This app needs too much access to locations and the like. You should be able to simply add an appliance without needing to have location set to always on. The response below doesn't account for the fact it ask for full location access and it to be always on. and most of the other info could be answered with a couple simple questions. While the notifications of when things are done are great, LG doesn't need that much info on me or anyone using the app.

Each permission is needed to ensure the app functions properly. Make & Manage phone calls is needed to determine your country using USIM info. Access to photos, media, & files allows the app to determine your device’s storage space. Location is only used to search for networks when connecting your product over Wi-Fi. ^LG

App is OK. Low rating because the TV widget for the phone only works if I unplug the TV's hardwire ethernet cable and is WIFI ONLY. lame. The widget has volume and channel up and down, and some other worthless buttons. Do you know what would actually have value on the widget? A mute button. WHY doesn't it have a mute? If you go into the app, then TV controller the mute button is there! PUT IT ON THE WIDGET please!

I've had this tv and app for about two years, never had much of an issue. Recently got a new phone and logged in to the app to find my device missing. so that's fine, I know how to add it back up. Click add device, tv, then it loads and gives up. I've tried uninstalling app, trying a different phone which has always had the app and worked, and same thing: device is gone. Tried it on there thinking it's just a phone issue, still loaded and gave up. Updated tv, same issue.
